Getting back on track...

Today the weather is wet and a bit glum...but the season is again changing (as seasons will do). The last of the leaves are coming down, the wind is kicking up, and the temps are cooling down. Perfect time for a cup of tea and getting to work!!

Lately, I've been working on getting the site updated, checking my links, making sure key site features work, and just doing overall general maintenance before the snow flies. I'm fine tuning things and updating software, renewing subscriptions

Business has been slow...I will not lie. There have been several times we've considered the thought of putting the business up for sale and throwing in the towel to 'move on' to something else...but something just keeps me tied. I look through the pages of the site, remembering how it felt to get everything lined up, asking my then 87 year old Grandma Tess to draw the illustrations that liven up the pages, talking to all my vendors, picking out product, familiarizing myself with all the techie stuff, setting up the office in our spare bedroom, carving out storage, unpacking the boxes and shelving of the most adorable, best quality made things on the planet...all of it hand picked with my customers in mind. I have to admit that it was a heck of a lot of work to get things this far...and it's a business that I'm very proud of. Thinking of this, I'm NOT ready to give up just yet.

Having an online business, or any small business in general, is a lot like nurturing a child - the bottom line is that you get out of the relationship what you pour into it. I realize that I need to spend more time with my 'baby' to make it grow stronger and find different, more creative ways, to keep it entertained. And I do love showing it off...LOL!

So I've been looking at new ways to promote and grow the business, and get the word out about just how great cloth diapers are. This means more advertising and learning to use social media tools that are out there. This blog will be used a LOT more than it has been! Pretty soon, LPP will be out there Tweeting and FaceBooking and I'll be promoting more sales on different products...I've got some big ideas and some surprises in store for you so please 'stay tuned' to learn more!
